About

Sunalyt began as a question I wanted answered properly for myself. Is an electric car cheaper to run where I live, and do solar panels pay for themselves? The comparisons I could find were either vague about their assumptions or optimistic about them, so I built one that states them.

I like new technology and this is a hobby. I work on it when other obligations leave room, so progress comes in bursts and some things stay unfinished longer than I would like. There is no company behind it and nothing here is for sale.

The figures are estimates built from public European data. They know nothing about your roof, your shading, or what your electricity contract actually says, and any of those can matter more than the differences the calculator is showing you. Every assumption is listed on the methodology page.

Use the results to get your bearings, not as advice. Check anything that would cost you money against a written quote, and understand that I cannot take responsibility for decisions made from these numbers.
